Celebrate “Musical May” at First Friday Arts District with creative experiences on May 3. During San Diego's biggest monthly art walk, guests can enjoy a battle of the bands, dance performances, make art, see demos and new art exhibitions, and more. May highlights Include:

DANCE | San Diego Ballet performs a preview of their next show celebrating a poem beloved by people from all walks of life and beliefs, “Song of Songs.” Performances at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in Barracks 17 Plaza.

MUSIC | Recreational Music Center invites you to the second annual Battle of the Bands plus headliner Cherry Road! 5 to 9 p.m. on North Promenade.

MUSIC | In aChord Men's Ensemble performances throughout the Arts District all night with special performances at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Barracks 17 Plaza.

ART SHOW | California State Parks and Southern California Assoc. of Camera Clubs showcase “A Shot In the Park,” juried photography exhibition and opening reception 5 to 8 p.m.

HAPPY HOUR | THE LOT invites you to enjoy happy hour specials until midnight. Bring a First Friday program flyer to receive promotion in Bldg. 35.

NEW EXHIBIT | Visions Art Museum invites guests to enjoy a walk In the Garden! Artists from Australia, Taiwan and USA bring gardens to indoor spaces with contemporary quilts and wearable items. 5 to 8 p.m. in Building 202.

NEW EXHIBIT | The San Diego Watercolor Society presents “Western Federation of Watercolor Societies Exhibition” a new art exhibition juried by award-winning artist Kathleen Conover. Opening reception 5 to 8 p.m. in Building 202.

GROUP SHOW | MKGoodwin Fine Art features a unique pop-up art show that will be celebrating the Magnolia with a variety of styles and techniques from painting to sculpture. 5 to 9 p.m. in Barracks 19.
