Volunteers will be stationed at the intersections of Garnet Avenue and Mission Bay Drive, Grand Avenue and Lamont Street, and Turquoise Street and Mission Boulevard to collect donations for Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego as part of the “Red Shoe Day” across San Diego County. Volunteers are being sought to collect donations from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. that day. San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for families with critically ill or injured children being treated at local hospitals. The 59th Annual World Championship Over-The-Line (OTL) Tournament, sponsored by the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC), will take place once again on the sand of Fiesta Island at Mission Bay. The tournament begins July 14 and 15 and concludes July 21 and 22 (both weekends 7:30 a.m. to dusk). The event offers food, fun, sports, entertainment and more.
