Francis Duncan age 84, a longtime San Diegan, passed away Feb. 9 at Crestview Rehabilitation Center in Crestview, Fla. Francis was born in Litchfield, Ill. on April 26, 1928 to Harry and Elizabeth Duncan. His parents died when he was very young and he was raised by his uncle, Roland Duncan.

Francis served his country in the U.S. Navy for 25 years before retiring. Francis then went to work for Lockheed-Martin. He loved to do crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, often reading several books at the same time. Francis also loved his dog, Rocky.

In October 2012, he lost the love of his life, his wife of 33 years, Betty Duncan. Now after only a few short months they are reunited again.

Francis is survived by his children: Richard Duncan, Steven Duncan, Susan Kennedy, Marcia Duncan, Joseph Duncan, Carla Gerard, and Carl Duncan. Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Private family services were to take place at a later date.
