Post-high school options — The public is invited to attend an informational event on the services and programs available to special education students who have an individual educational plan, or IEP, as well as those students with disabilities that fall under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Topics include college attendance; adult education programs; vocational programs; Job Corps; and more. Boogie for elementary education — La Jolla Elementary School’s annual gala is set for March 16, and this year’s theme is “Boogie Oogie Oogie.” The auction raises money for the nonprofit Friends of La Jolla Elementary, Inc., which helps the school pay for things like additional teachers, supplies, technology support and more. The event will be held at the Cuvier Club, 7776 Eads Ave., and will feature dinner, hosted bar, dancing, poker tournament and auctions. Underwriting opportunities are available, ranging from food and drinks to décor, entertainment, disco-era furniture, venue and more, with donation amounts beginning at $100.
