Dame Zandra Rhodes just launched a new collection called KARISMATISK in collaboration with IKEA. This collection includes 26 statement-making pieces and is available in IKEA stores globally.
When you visit IKEA in San Diego, you will first go up the stairs and to your surprise, the first thing you see is the new launch of Zandra Rhodes. It is very exciting to see this fabulous collection of long-time resident and supporter of many San Diego charities. After much planning, the IKEA team came up with a collection reflecting her aesthetics. They used the five dimensions of democratic design, which are form, function, quality, and sustainability at an affordable price. This means that everyone can now afford to take a little piece of Rhodes home with them.
Rhodes’ inspiration comes from organic material and nature. Her prints are inspired by travel such as the chevron stripes from Ukraine and the symbols of the Native North Americans. She is also inspired by Japanese flowers, calligraphy, and shells. Using these patterns along with the power of color they have made products that will add character or charisma to the home. They have used recycled material wherever possible and the focus is less is more.
This eye-catching KARISMATISK Collection makes a statement. It says “Here I am!” You can have so much fun with these home furnishings by mixing and matching cushions, rugs, and textiles. They also have cut fabric in two different designs, which you can make into something unique or this material is perfect for all the quilters out there.
“It’s the sort of collection that people can just take one piece of and it can brighten up their lives or they can take several pieces,” says Zandra Rhodes.
For those who are not familiar with Zandra Rhodes, she was one of the new wave of British designers who put London at the forefront of the international fashion scene in the 1970s. She is famous for her use of vibrant colors and fearless prints and has been a revolutionary force in the fashion and textile worlds for over five decades and author of many books.
This collection is a manifesto for fearless self-expression at home. During these uncertain times using color helps uplift the spirit. KARISMATISK encourages all color lovers to “be bold, be fabulous, be you!”
My favorite quote from this international fashion designer is, “Colour makes people happy and happy looks good on everyone.” For more information, visit zandrarhodes.com.
