TUESDAY, Oct. 9

Point Loma United Methodist Church hosts a free session of “Introduction to Chair Yoga” to help participants experience how the exercise can offer flexibility and inner harmony for special conditions.

WEDNESDAY, Oct. 10

SATURDAY, Oct. 13

The Studebaker Drivers Club San Diego chapter hosts the “Cool Classic Car Show 4” from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Spanish Landing west of Harbor Drive. The Point Loma Peninsula Republican Women’s monthly meeting will feature two speakers: 52nd Congressional District candidate Brian Bilbray and state Senate candidate George Plescia. THURSDAY, Oct. 18

The Ocean Beach Historical Society presents a free presentation, “Local Birds & Life in O.B.,” by Ocean Beach photographer Steve Rowell. The presentation takes place at 7 p.m. at the Point Loma United Methodist Church, located at 1984 Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Rowell programs are a visual treat with great insight into both the local two- and four-legged residents. FRIDAY, Oct. 19

Silver Gate Elementary School will host its annual communitywide Harvest Festival from 5 to 8 p.m. The event includes games, food, Halloween costume contest, laser tag, haunted pathway, cake walk, games for the kiddies, pumpkin patch, face painting and other activities.
