On a recent afternoon, Pacific Beach Town Council (PBTC) president Alan Harris presented a donation to the members of the PB Locals surf club.

Also present were Elkie Wells, president of PB Locals Surf Club; and Souf Tihhi, a new PBTC member, owner of San Diego Surf School, a supporter of PB Locals.

The Pacific Beach Town Council is a nonprofit, volunteer organization founded in 1951. The PBTC is involved with current issues that affect the community.

The council works closely with the City Council, police department and other agencies to ensure that it receives current information and that PBTC members’ views are heard.

Membership is open to everyone. For information, or to join the PBTC, contact Marylee at (858) 483-6666.

PB Locals is a middle-school surf club and a competition surf team whose mission is to encourage and foster the youth surf community through mentoring and instruction, while cultivating competition surfing. Children attending Pacific Beach Middle School participate in surf competitions up and down the coast. The club also provides surfers with community service opportunities to support Pacific Beach.
