For those in the vicinity of Naval Base Coronado, there will be no cause for panic if one hears gunfire and sees smoke trailing into the sky on April 11.

Navy officials plan to conduct training that morning near the ocean beaches by Fiddler's Cove, along Silver Strand. Observers can expect to hear blank gunfire and see smoke during this training exercise.

Military officials said they recognize the importance of being good neighbors with the local communities and that they are making every effort to abate noise, when possible.

Noise complaints can be directed to (619) 545-8233. All other questions can be directed to the Naval Base Coronado Public Affairs Office at (619) 545-8136.
