A 36-year-old Hispanic male was seen outside the guardrail over southbound Interstate 5 on the Interstate 8 transition ramp about 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 30. He was uncooperative with police and refused to come back to a safe location.

He was threatening to jump, endangering motorists below on Interstate 5. The California Highway Patrol diverted traffic in the area. The male refused to move to a place of safety until about 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 31.

He moved to a location above some brush and jumped. He suffered minor injuries and was arrested. Traffic was restored to normal operations.
