Beginning at noon, guests will be welcomed with a pint of the beer that inspired it all, the Coffee Pale Ale, to kick off the afternoon of tastings. As attendees settle in, Bay City Brewing Co. head brewer Chris West will introduce the three craft collaborations, which include:
Ryan Bros Coffee: Brown Ale with Papua New Guinea;
OB Beans Coffee Roasters: Nitro Stout with Mexican Chiapas;
Swell Coffee Co.: Belgian Dubbel with Ethiopian;
For the rest of the afternoon, participants will enjoy three 8-ounce pours of the brewery’s one-of-a-kind coffee beers – made from the beans of each roaster present. Guests can mingle with West and the roasters for an inside look into the world of craft beverages. For an extra jolt, each roaster will offer coffee tastings and samples of their products.
According to West, the coffee tasting has a global influence.
“What makes this event unique is each beer uses coffee beans from three major coffee-growing regions – the Americas, Africa and Pacific,” said West.
Coffee beer lovers can purchase tickets for the Jan. 28 event that runs from noon to 4 p.m. For more information about Bay City Brewing Co.’s brews between the bays, visit baycitybrewingco.com/ or head to the tasting room at 3760 Hancock St.
