San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes detectives are requesting the assistance of the community and media in locating a male wanted for burglary and sexual assault.

On Oct. 1, at approximately 1:50 a.m., a male entered a residence in the Pacific Beach area through an open window. Once inside, the male sexually assaulted a sleeping female occupant. When the female awoke, the male fled from the home

The San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes Unit responded and investigated the incident that morning.

The suspect has been identified as 55-year-old Jeffrey Hanze (aka Jeffrey Hanre). Hanze is described as a caucasian male, balding, with blue eyes. He is approximately 6-feet tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds.

Hanze should be considered armed and dangerous. If located, do not contact the suspect, please notify your local law enforcement agency via 911.

Anyone with information on Hanze’s whereabouts is asked to call the SDPD’s Sex Crimes Unit at 619-531-2210 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580- 8477.
