On Thursday, May 9, the Ocean Beach Woman’s Club is bringing back a tradition from the past: the annual Hat Contest! The event is free, open to the public and everyone is invited to enter the contest. Even if hat-making isn't your thing, stop by for a cold beer, delicious food, raffles and to cast your ballot for your favorite hats.

There are three hat contest categories:

    • Most OBcean
    • Most Original
    • Most Nostalgic “Ode to Mae”

The event starts at 6 p.m. at Culture Brewing, 845 Newport Ave. Hat contest voting closes at 8 p.m. with the winners announced at 8:15 p.m. There will be cool prizes for the hat champions and bragging rights for an entire year! For more information, visit oceanbeachwomansclub.org.
