Police investigating homicide in University City

Police are investigating the murder of a 56-year-old white male who was found at a University City residence around 6 a.m., July 8 on the 5300 block of Bothe Ave.

When San Deigo Fire Department paramedics and San Diego police officers arrived, they found the victim with trauma to his upper body. He had obvious signs of death and was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives soon learned that the victim lived at the residence with a 57-year-old female and her 34-year-old son. There had been an altercation between the victim and the son.

The victim's identity has not yet been released, and the 34-year-old male is currently in police custody.
