Jazz and classical fans won’t want to miss Synergy 1: Intersection, a special concert at The Baker-Baum Concert Hall, located in the new Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center, showcasing the synergy between the two musical genres.

On hand will be acclaimed pianist Aaron Diehl, alongside three-time Grammy winner singer Cécile McLorin Salvant. Both are major talents, but Salvant is a real treasure, with a beautiful, clear, emotional voice that is captivating no matter the material she chooses. Easily one of the best vocalists to emerge since the turn of the century, Salvant’s five albums to date reveal a major talent, topped only by her live appearances. The concert will be preceded by an interview with the performers hosted by Robert John Hughes.

Cécile McLorin Salvant & Aaron Diehl: Wednesday Aug. 7 at The Baker-Baum Concert Hall / The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center, 7600 Fay Ave. 8 p.m. All Ages. www.ljms.org
