Hillcrest Bank Robbed
Chase Bank at 3800 Fifth Avenue in Hillcrest was robbed Dec. 8, by a man who escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robber, described as a white man in his 40s, entered the bank shortly after 1 p.m. and handed the teller a demand note, according to San Diego Police Detective Gary Hassen. After taking the money, he left the bank and was last seen walking north on Fifth Avenue, Hassen said.
The man was described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall, with blue eyes and a scruffy beard. He was wearing a black jacket and carrying a blue tarp under one arm, and a white canvas bag under the other. No suspects have been arrested in the case, Hassen said.
