Bishop’s polo sees CIF play
The Bishop’s School girls water polo team kicked off CIF action last week with wins over Valhalla (18-1) and El Capitan (16-3).
In the win over Valhalla, Bishop’s was led by Dominique Sardo’s five goals and five steals.
Sophomore Sarah Presant chipped in with three goals and two assists, while senior Stephanie Tecca added three goals and two steals.
Kirsten Siegel was one of seven players to chip in with a goal.
In a quarterfinal win over El Capitan, senior captain Zinnea Alexander led the way with six goals.
Senior goalie Julia Eichenfield had 14 saves before being relieved by freshman Claryann Olafson-Loo, who chipped in with five saves in the fourth quarter.
Bishop’s was scheduled to meet University City in the next round Wednesday evening, Feb. 20 as the Village News went to press.
