So Others May Eat will be hosting its fifth annual Christmas dinner party for San Diego’s hungry and those in need on Friday, Dec. 19, at 5:30 p.m. at La Jolla’s Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, located at 7669 Girard Ave. La Jolla Hyatt chef Angela Souza will be donating hot roasted turkey and side dishes, and an anonymous donation of more than 100 frozen turkeys for families in need has been made. Parishioners and the community have donated more than 150 wrapped Christmas gifts. Santa will be making an appearance and handing out gifts to children and adults on his list, sent to the North Pole in early October via Rudolph and his reindeer. The Clairemont First Baptist Church Choir will be performing Christmas carols for our guests. Hot chocolate, gingerbread cookies, appetizers, a delicious hot meal and great deserts and treats for all will be available. Volunteers have been preparing and planning for this event since last year, as it is one of the biggest highlights for So Others May Eat. Donations are welcome.
