The Arc of San Diego, a local nonprofit serving people with disabilities, has been selected by the members of Las Patronas as a major beneficiary for the 2015 Jewel Ball. A portion of the proceeds from the Jewel Ball will be granted to The Arc of San Diego for the purchase of exercise equipment to provide therapeutic fitness services to people with disabilities. The state-of-the-art exercise equipment will meet the needs of individuals with disabilities and ensure they are able to live the most independent and fulfilling lives possible while enjoying the health benefits of a wellness program. The 69tth annual Jewel Ball was held August 8 at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. This year’s theme, Magnifique, transported guests to the beauty and elegance of France. Each year, the Arc serves more than 2,500 children and adults countywide with disabilities such as mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome.
