The San Diego Seals kept their playoff run alive on Saturday night defeating the Colorado Mammoth in overtime at Ball Arena by a final score of 11-10. Forward Dane Dobbie buried the game-winner with a SportsCenter Top-10 quality behind the back goal to force Game 3 in San Diego.
The Seals and Mammoth will face off on Saturday, May 28 for the final meeting in a win-or-go-home matchup.
Game 2 of the West Conference Finals brought the dramatic flair. The Seals took a two-goal lead into the locker room at half, but Colorado took the lead in the third quarter. It was a back-and-forth second half, but the Mammoth tied the game with just over a minute remaining to force overtime. With chances on both ends, forward Dobbie netted the behind the back game-winner to force Game 3.
Forward Austin Staats tied his career-high with five goals scored in the game. Dobbie led the offense with four goals and six points. Goaltender Frank Sciglaino stopped 42 shots on the night including 12 in the fourth quarter. Transition player Mike McCannell made his NLL debut and notched his first career point in the win.
