Valle De Oro Community Planning Group Vice-Chair Jay Steiger announced his candidacy for a board seat with Grossmont Union High School District, Area 2.
Steiger is a parent, teacher, and community member having served on the district’s Bond Committee from 2016-20, the District Advisory Council from 2015-21, and other various education and community boards and commissions.
“I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Grossmont Union High School District, Trustee Area 2.” said Steiger. “As a lifelong resident and passionate education advocate, I am dedicated to serving our community and ensuring a bright future for our students.
“With experience as both a teacher and a parent, I understand the importance of providing a quality education that prepares students for success. I will work tirelessly to maintain the district’s reputation while adapting to the evolving needs of our students and society. Together, we can foster strong partnerships, prioritize innovative curriculum, and create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.”
Steiger has already received endorsements from local education leaders including Trustee Debbie Justeson of the Grossmont Cuyamaca Community College district, and Trustee’s Brianna Coston and Caitlin Tiffany of the La Mesa-Spring Valley School Board.
