The Foothills Art Association recently held their 34th Annual Wildlife in Art Show Reception & Awards Presentation…and it was wildly amazing.
Stephanie Goldman served as the juror for the show. She is known for her richly colored figures, insightful portraits, boldly painted miniatures and dynamic charcoal, pencil and ink drawings.

A total of 79 artists submitted 149 art entries, and 83 pieces were selected for the show. There was even an entry from France…making this an international show.
The top three winners were: First place – (Marie Knox, Predation, Watercolor); Second place – (Stephanie Henry, Sumatran Tiger, Color Pencil); Third place – Jeannette Steiger, A Long Journey, Watercolor).
Guests were able to view and shop the wildlife artwork, enjoy complimentary wine and light refreshments, grab a prop and strike a pose at a themed photo opportunity area, take part in an opportunity drawing for chances to win amazing prizes, and see exciting live entertainment before the awards presentation. Peggy Connolly, president of Foothills Art Association, awarded more than $2,800 in cash and merchandise to the winning artists.
The Foothills Art Association is a non-profit organization that promotes fine arts and offers educational and exhibition opportunities to artists in the community. The Foothills Art Association is 100% volunteer-powered by a group of more than 160 passionate individuals focused on helping the local arts community grow and prosper.
The 34th Annual Wildlife in Art Show runs through Wednesday, Dec. 6 at the Foothills Fine Art Gallery at Porter Hall in La Mesa.
