At 9:15 a.m., Doppler radar indicated moderate to locally heavy rain. Areas of minor flooding have been reported. Between 0.25 and 0.6 inches of rain have fallen in the past 3 hours, locally over an inch along northern San Diego County coast.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 inch to 0.75 inches, locally up to 1 inch, possible over the area into the late morning and early afternoon. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Chula Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, El Cajon, Vista, Encinitas, National City, La Mesa, Poway, and Imperial Beach. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. https://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
