Do you know of an outstanding Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) teacher in East County? Then now is your chance to celebrate the magic they do in their classrooms.

Friends of East County Arts, Inc. (FECA) will be honoring one (1) high and one (1) middle school visual art teacher and one (1) high and one (1) middle school performing arts teacher this year. An award of $1,500 will be presented to each of the four (4) honorees.

Friends of East County Arts, Inc. has been a contributor to the VAPA community in East San Diego County since 1984 with financial grants to assist in the growth and development of the arts in schools.

Outstanding Visual and Performing Arts Teachers will be selected by a committee comprised of members of FECA. This organization retains the right to make the selections based on: 1) the qualifications of a pool of nominees as stated in the nomination packet and 2) a classroom visitation by members of the selection committee.

Nominations for this award may be made by an administrator, a peer professional, or the teacher him/herself. Nominations from students, parents or community representatives will not be accepted.

Selection criteria, the nomination process and the nomination form are attached. These forms may be duplicated and shared as many times as you want.

The completed application form (pages 3-4) must be submitted digitally and postmarked no later than Feb. 23, 2024.
