Liberty Station’s newest festival titled “Anchored in Wellness, a day of movement and mindfulness,” will take place in Ingram Plaza, 2640 Cushing Road, on Saturday, June 29 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
There will be an area for movement (Pilates, yoga, and boot camp classes) and an area for mindfulness (meditation, a sound bath, and breathwork).
This daylong festival will be a celebration of the wellness offerings in and around Liberty Station. There will also be a vendor booth area with two stages for classes, ice baths, contest giveaways, a wine and beer garden, and experiential activations throughout the event.
An open house of sorts, this event will showcase Liberty Station as one of San Diego’s top wellness destinations. Highlights include Pilates class by Club Pilates; ice baths and breathwork by Soul Plunge; breathwork sound bath by Guy Douglas class led by Yoga Six; boot camp class led by FIT Athletic; pickleball tournament by Volo; sound bath and yin meditation by Riffs Yoga; food trucks, beer and wine garden; samplings of the latest health products; 35-plus vendors; DJ Mancat and giveaways. The event will take place rain or shine. No refunds.
“Club Pilates Liberty Station is thrilled to announce our participation in Anchored in Wellness,” noted the club adding, “We will be offering a special Pilates class at the event, along with a complimentary introductory session for all attendees. We look forward to connecting with the Point Loma community and promoting health and wellness together.”
YogaSix Point Loma also has something special planned. “We will teach the kick-off yoga class for the Anchored in Wellness festival in Liberty Station,” said the business. “All those who participate in the 9 a.m. yoga class, who are not already members of YogaSix Point Loma, will be given a ‘free’ month with us. Come flow with Tamara and enjoy the 35-plus vendors who will be participating in the event.”
Point Loma Sports Club is holding a workshop at the event called “The Path to Greater Wellness: Understanding Nervous System Regulation.” The workshop will be taught by trainer Laura Gordon, who has a Ph.D. in human performance psychology and a wide array of experience helping clients achieve optimal mental and physical performance through powerful nervous system targeting practices. This workshop will take place at 10 a.m. at the event, which is held right outside Point Loma Sports Club.
Rachel Frank, manager of events and social media for Liberty Station, talked about what guests can expect. “San Diego is such a wellness-focused community, and we have some amazing wellness businesses in Liberty Station,” she said. “We’ll also have a beer garden with some non-alcohol options as well.”
Added Frank: “We’ll have an education tent with different workshops throughout the day on subjects like nutrition, the mind-body connection, and breath work. We also will have 40-plus vendors. It really will just be a little mini-retreat for you, to come and enjoy the different classes, the ice baths, the education. Give yourself a day of wellness at Liberty Station.”
