Area residents are invited this Thursday (Sept. 19) for the El Cerrito Community Council monthly meeting in person at the College Rolando Library, 6600 Montezuma Road, San Diego or via Zoom.
Attendees should note that this and future meetings of the El Cerrito Community Council (ECCC) will have a new time: they will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. The ECCC meeting time is changing to align better with the Library’s Internet access which ends at 8 p.m. This will allow Zoom attendees to be present for the whole meeting.
Those attending the meeting can hear an I Love A Clean San Diego presentation.
Maren, the community education coordinator at I Love A Clean San Diego, will present simple steps eachindividual can take to recycle as much as possible, work towards zero-waste living, and follow the local waste disposal guidelines. She will then answer questions any questions attendees may have on this topic.
Included will be information on the 40th Annual I Love A Clean San Diego Coastal Cleanup Day this Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon.
You can sign up to help on the coast or in the local neighborhood at – https://cleansd.samaritan.com/custom/501/opp_details/3459.
Residents can also join the community meeting to find out more about the Cost-of-Service Study and provide their input.
ECCC will also have updates from representatives of the planning and community organizations, elected officials, parks and recreation, and PATH Villas El Cerrito.
In an important development for the community, ECCC has partnered with PATH Villas El Cerrito in forming a Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) that will be the conduit for concerns that residents of El Cerrito may have with the operation of the residential housing at the Family Health Centers (FHC) building, 5472-5482 El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego.
Concerns regarding the operation of the FHC clinic on the ground floor or the multi-level parking garage, which are not connected to PATH Villas El Cerrito on the upper floors of the building, should be made directly to FHC. If you have concerns or positive comments regarding the residential housing in the FHC building, send them to [email protected], attention Greg Estep, chair of the NAC.
Those attending this Thursday night will meet in the Library’s Community Room. Use the side entrance directly to the Community Room which you can access using the walkway that fronts the library on the parking lot side. The door will be open until meeting time and will remain unlocked in case one is coming a little later.
Meetings are hybrid in-person and via Zoom, so attend by Zoom if needed.
