
A number of Helix Charter High winter sports teams saw action in the last week as CIF playoffs kicked off.
The boys’ basketball team scored a close 43-41 win over Christian High last Tuesday. Helix is scheduled to meet The Bishop’s School in the next round on Friday, Feb. 21.
In girls’ basketball play, Helix dropped a 60-32 decision to San Marcos High this past Wednesday. With the win, San Marcos is slated to meet Victory Christian Academy on Saturday, Feb. 22.
The Helix girls’ water polo team dropped a 9-5 decision to La Jolla High last Tuesday in a state qualifying round.
Meantime, both Helix soccer teams scored wins in their respective contests this past Wednesday.

In girls’ action, Helix tallied a 4-0 win over Chula Vista Learning to move on to the next round in Division III play. Helix is slated to meet San Diego High on Friday, Feb. 21.

In boys’ action, Helix notched a 3-0 win over Coronado High in Division II play. Helix moves on to play University City on Friday, Feb. 21.
Finally, there are six wrestlers and one alternate qualified for the CIF Masters Meet on Friday and Saturday at Christian High School. They will wrestle for a shot at qualifying for the State Championships.
