No matter where you go in the Navajo Area you are bound to see a maroon or grey Crusaders Soccer team jersey or a practice t-shirt.
If you are driving throughout our community on a Sunday and drive by Princess Del Cerro or Tuxedo Park, Gage Elementary or the turf fields at Pershing Middle in the afternoon, you will see hundreds of Crusaders Soccer players.
Director of Coaching for the Crusaders Soccer Club, Victor Melendez, announced two upcoming events: the Spring Break Camps and the final set of competitive tryouts.
Be part of something special and join us for one of our Spring Break Camps, April 1-3.
The camps are open to all boys and girls whether they are members of the Crusaders Soccer Club or not. The cost for Crusaders players is $250 and $300 for soccer players who are not members of the Crusaders Soccer family. The Competitive camp is from 8:30 to 11, and the Recreational and the Goalkeeper camps are from 12 to 2.
Victor’s second announcement is, the competitive tryouts are for all boys and girls born between 2007 and 2010 which will be held April 21-24.
The competitive division of the Crusaders Soccer Club has grown by 50% as we head into the 2025/26 competitive season. This will be a great opportunity for talented players to determine if their soccer skills are developed enough to become a proud member of the Crusaders Soccer family and a member of a competitive team.

The third Sunday of the eight-game, 2025 spring recreational season is Sunday, March 16. One of the traditions for recreational teams is displaying a team banner during a game. There are always a great number of very creative banners on display. One banner representing the mighty 2017/18 Girls Confetti Yetis team, coached by Jeremy and Scott, is featured in the accompanying photo.
Director of Coaching for the Crusaders Soccer Recreational Program, Modesto Guariniello, announced the details of the annual 3V3 tournament.
“Because of the magnitude of this years’ tournament, it will now be played in two locations on two separate days. The boys’ teams will play on Saturday, May 17 at Pershing Middle School and the girls’ teams will play on Sunday, May 18 at Gage Elementary. We will be hosting around 200 teams from throughout Southern California. To say a 3V3 tournament is fast-paced, is an understatement. The field is small, and teams may have no more than five players, which are frequently substituted because of the fast pace.
“Put May 17 and/or 18 on your calendar and stop by and enjoy a few games.
“Each game consists of two 12.5-minute halves with a five-minute halftime. There will be as many as eightgames being played at the same time on each of the two soccer fields at Pershing Middle School and the field at Gage Elementary School. This year we will have a competitive as well as a recreational level division.”
