She has almost a decade of experience representing management in labor and employment matters.
“Shauna brings a deep understanding of California’s evolving legal landscape that is key to the successful anticipation and navigation of workplace challenges, enabling us to offer top-tier solutions and support for our clients,” said Co-Leaders of the firm’s Employment Litigation group, Carolyn G. Burnette and Ana C. Shields. “We are excited to leverage her broad skillset and trusted insights to elevate the level of service we provide to employers in this critical region.”
Amon devotes much of her practice to advising employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including workplace policies, wage and hour compliance, leave laws and anti-discrimination regulations. Certified by the Association of Workplace Investigators, Amon is often called upon to lead sensitive investigations for both public and private employers, including schools, community colleges and other educational institutions. Her internal investigation experience spans allegations of misconduct, discrimination, harassment, bullying and retaliation.
Alongside her advisory practice, Amon is an experienced litigator who represents employers in state and federal agencies, administrative proceedings and labor disputes. She regularly handles grievance arbitrations and mediations and has successfully defended employers before the Public Employment Relations Board. She also frequently serves as lead negotiator in collective bargaining matters.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Shauna to Jackson Lewis,” said San Diego Office Managing Principal Amy Todd. “Her impressive depth and versatility across a wide range of labor and employment issues is exactly the kind of talent we’re eager to bring on board. Her addition brings added focus and strength to our skilled San Diego team, positioning us even more powerfully to tackle the diverse and complicated challenges facing California employers.”
Amon regularly speaks at labor and employment seminars, with an emphasis on personnel management. She also conducts training sessions, including mandatory harassment prevention programs for both supervisors and staff.
