A 25-year prison sentence may be handed down Oct. 19 to a man who has pleaded guilty to robbing a Radio Shack store in La Jolla at gunpoint and to several other robberies. Joshua Lee Stevenson, 27, of National City admitted to holding up the Radio Shack store at 1915 Pearl St. on June 10, 2009. Stevenson and another unidentified thief forced a clerk to lie on the floor as they scooped up cell phones, computers, televisions and electronic games, according to court records. Another Radio Shack worker showed up during the robbery and he was also forced to the floor at gunpoint. Stevenson pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery at Radio Shack and to five other robbery charges at other stores. Stevenson pleaded guilty in August to all counts before San Diego Superior Court Judge Frank Brown. The maximum sentence is 41 years, but Brown indicated to Stevenson he would not sentence him to more than 25 years. Stevenson was arrested Feb. 10 after leaving fingerprints behind after the robbery of another store. He remains in county jail without bail.
