Boulevard La Jolla presented its first runway affair on Feb. 26. A crowd of fashionistas packed into the store in anticipation of this show in the newly opened high-end resale boutique. The guests socialized with each other while enjoying a champagne reception as they were waiting for the celebration to begin.
The crowd was entertained by DJ Alexander Gabriel who played an amazing selection of tunes to fit the occasion. A festive atmosphere was set up to create a runway in the center of the boutique. Golden balloons filled with helium were attached to long streamers covering the catwalk.
This elegant affair began with the master of ceremonies Matt Jackson welcoming the guests. Jackson next introduced Kate Whitney, the owner of this trendy boutique. She said that Boulevard means “important street” in French. She continued to say that each individual person is important so they can come into this store and shop one of a kind as each person is one of a kind. Shoppers can come here and buy what looks good on them instead of following trends. She was overwhelmed by the turnout and thanked everyone for coming.
The fashion show began with models of all different ages showing off the versatility of these timeless fashions. They sauntered down the runway effortlessly. Spring is just around the corner and styles were shown that are perfect for that season. A fuchsia jumpsuit with a long slit in the back received a great response from the audience. Many of the dresses were soft and flowing perfect for the upcoming time of year.
My favorite accessories were the boots, which really rocked the runway. One style had white boots with a tangerine dress, which spiced up the catwalk. Another standout was the black boots with mini purses on either side. Black has been said to be the favorite color in fashion and the finale finished with classic black evening wear. These ageless fashions received a huge round of applause from the audience.
As the fashion show concluded, the models rolled out racks and racks of garments. The guests began a shopping frenzy moving from rack to rack and having the time of their lives. For a new shopping experience, visit this fun place to shop at 7730 Girard Ave.
