There’s lots happening at Rooftop Cinema Club in February, including a Super Bowl LIX Watch Party, a Galentine’s Day Movie & Karaoke Night, a full weekend to celebrate Valentine’s Day and a fantastic lineup of rom-coms, cult classics and recent releases.

Here’s a quick refresher on some of the special events on-tap for February:
Super Bowl Sunday Watch Party – On Super Bowl Sunday (Sunday, Feb. 9), Rooftop Cinema Club will be a good place in San Diego to watch the Kansas City Chiefs battle the Philadelphia Eagles. For just $20 (including popcorn) football fans can enjoy the Big Game on Rooftop Cinema Club’s giant 24-foot LED screen atop the Grand Hyatt with the San Diego skyline as a backdrop.
Galentine’s Movie & Karaoke Night – Galentine’s Day is Thursday, Feb. 13 and Rooftop Cinema Club is raising a toast to the gals of San Diego by hosting a Movie and Karaoke Night on the Rooftop featuring an iconic Girls Night Out rom-com, 13 Going on 30 followed by a 9 p.m. screening of the 2024 hit musical Wicked. Separate admission required.
Valentine’s Weekend – This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday (Feb. 14) and Rooftop Cinema Club is taking full advantage and making an entire weekend out of it to provide the destination for an intimate Valentine’s Day or Night with that special someone. Combining its new Fireside Films and a lineup that includes films such as The Proposal, 50 First Dates, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Pretty Woman, 10 Things I Hate About You and The Notebook.
Black History Month – All throughout February, Rooftop Cinema Club is celebrating Black History Month with a specially curated lineup highlighting Black Cinema and the stories, creators and performances that have shaped film history. White Chicks, The Wood, Friday and Brown Sugar are just a few of the films set to be featured on the Rooftop celebrating the art, talent and culture of Black filmmakers and actors.
Fresh Prince of Bel Air Mini-Marathon – Combining Black History Month with the 35thanniversary of its 1990 television premiere, Rooftop Cinema Club is paying homage to Will Smith and the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and its laughs, lessons and unapologetic celebration of Black culture with a Fresh Prince of Bel Air Mini-Marathon on Thursday, Feb. 27. Episodes set to be featured include Banks Shot, Papa’s Got A Brand New Excuse, Will is from Mars and Viva Lost Wages.
Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero is located at the Manchester Grand Hyatt (1 Market Place, San Diego, 92101) on the open-air 4th Floor Sport Terrace of the Harbor Tower with skyline views.
Ticket prices and age limits are as follows. Films that start before 5 p.m. are open to guests of all ages and prices range from $11-20. Films that start between 5-8 p.m. and include Fireside Films seating as an option are open to guests 13-and-up and range from $21-30 with options that include a hot seasonal non-alcoholic beverage (Hot Tea, Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa, Steeped Coffee or Apple Cider). And for weekend films that start after 8 p.m. and are Fireside Films ONLY, those are open exclusively to guests 18-and-over. Tickets are $30 apiece and include one of the above-mentioned seasonal hot non-alcoholic beverages. Age limits for films that begin after 5 p.m. are strictly enforced and all attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Ticket prices for Fireside Films seats are per person and must be purchased in pairs.
