The College Area Business District (CABD) held a mixer at F45 Training (6145 El Cajon Blvd.) on Feb. 28, to kick off the organization’s three-month election process.
The Business District holds annual elections for board members, with staggered two-year terms of service. This mixer was held to entice area business representatives to consider serving as board members to help lead the organization. Prospective board members were able to hear from the current Board and staff who were also present at the mixer.
The CABD enjoys hosting mixers, so this was another great opportunity to have a number of College Area businesses enjoy the evening together.
The organization will be accepting Board Member applications from eligible businesses through Friday, March 15. Election voting will then be opened and will run until the annual meeting on Wednesday, April 17.

Ariesseira (6767 El Cajon Boulevard) is a small, but rich gift boutique ready to serve the College & Rolando neighborhoods. Owner, Georgie Brown had the soft opening in January and will be hosting a grand opening celebration on Saturday, March 23.
Next door is another new business (pictured in top photo), Biz Baz Club (6771 El Cajon Blvd.), an anime-styled boutique and boba shop that will make you happy simply by entering.
The space is brightly decorated with pins, stickers and other artistic pieces.
Biz Baz Club is owned and operated by Jules Kennedy who will be working with Georgie at Ariesseira for a joint grand opening celebration on Saturday, March 23. Special note: That date is also Georgie’s birthday, so come celebrate and welcome both of these shops to the College Area.
