Sunday, June 1, 11:30 a.m., Westminster Presbyterian Church hosts art auction featuring the watercolor works of Marion Sandy. The event will include a silent auction, appetizers, champagne and live entertainment. Proceeds from the free event will go toward youth ministries programs. Tuesday, June 3, 6 to 8:30, the Social Studies Department of Point Loma High School hosts a banquet to honor student achievement in history. Thursday, June 5, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., San Diego Chapter of the National Speakers Association sponsors second annual School of Public Speaking for sales professionals, business owners and executives, attorneys, board members, meeting planners and those in the entertainment field. The event takes place at Point Loma Nazarene University, 3900 Lomaland Drive. Friday, June 6, 5 to 7 p.m., opening reception for “Material Guys,” the next exhibit at Visions Art Quilt Gallery. The exhibit will feature the quilt work of male artists.
