• The home known as the “Silver Ship” cost $40,000 to build in 1981 and $5,000 for the carport, not $3,500 as reported in the April 8 issue. The La Jolla Village News regrets the error. • In the April 8 article titled “LJCPA critical of 3-story Whitney project,” the floor area ratio was incorrectly defined as the footprint of the building. The floor area ratio is a numerical value obtained by dividing the total gross floor area, including all floor levels, by the size of the lot. For example, a 6,000-gross-square-foot building on a 10,000-square-foot lot would have a Floor Area Ratio of 0.60. The footprint of a building refers to the lot coverage, which may include open courtyards and plazas. The article wrongly interpreted architect Phil Merten’s explanation. We apologize for the error.
