The 2023 fall season for the Crusaders Soccer Club is here.
On Saturday, Sept. 9, nearly 1,100 Recreational/Grassroots and 350 Competitive players will be on a soccer field for the opening of the Crusaders Soccer Clubs’ beginning of the 2023 fall season. There are 107 Recreational/Grassroots teams for players born between 2020 and 2010 and 350 competitive players born between 2006 and 2016.
This a prime example of “It Takes A Village”. There are 150 volunteers including coaches, assistant coaches, and division coordinators for the Crusaders Recreational/Grassroots program. Each volunteer donates countless hours to ensure every player has an opportunity to gain soccer skills, understand what team play and sportsmanship is all about, and have fun!
Our Competitive teams have continued their winning streak throughout the summer at various tournaments.
On Aug. 8, the Girls 2014 Academy Team, coached by Enko Telahun, won the Coronado Crown Classic Tournament by defeating their final opponent by a score of 4-2 (pictured above).
Now through November the teams of the Competitive and Recreational/Grassroots divisions will be playing soccer games on sports fields in Allied Gardens Del Cerro and San Carlos. All these teams will also be practicing during the week through the middle of November.
As you drive through our Crusaders communities, keep a careful eye out for a soccer ball that may suddenly roll across the street and possibly being chased by a young player who may forget to look out for cars. Please drive carefully.
Particularly on Saturdays, most of the grass fields in our community, and the two turf fields at Pershing Middle School will be filled with Crusaders soccer players of all ages. Take the opportunity to pull up a folding chair and watch these energetic children play soccer.
