One of La Jolla’s most popular steakhouses closed its doors for good this past week.
Donovan’s Steak and Chop House on 1250 Prospect St., announced the closure on Dec. 28. The restaurant had been operating for 20 years. Representatives for Donovan’s told NBC 7 that the closure was because the restaurant had “become unsustainable as the high cost of doing business in California continues to rise.”
The Donovan’s Steak & Chop House located at 570 K Street in the Gaslamp will remain open. Donovan’s team confirmed the closure in a recent Facebook post.
“We are grateful for our customers’ loyal patronage, and equally appreciative of our outstanding employees who give our customers unmatched service. We look forward to seeing you at our Gaslamp location.”
