The Lyceum Theatres, home to San Diego Repertory Theatre at the Horton Plaza downtown, are in the midst of a $3 million upgrade of their public spaces, including the lobby and concession areas, restrooms and Lyceum stage. The remodel is occurring in stages and will take about a year to complete. Renovations include a new lobby area featuring raised ceilings, natural and modern lighting and a new stairwell; new concession areas; renovated restrooms, with wood and glass finishes throughout; and new floors and aisles in the Lyceum stage ssteaing area, with new carpet, polished floors and aisle lighting. The changes are funded by Horton Plaza Theatres Foundation and the City of San Diego. San Diego-based Soltek Pacific Construction is the project’s general contractor, and the construction is being managed by Eric Jackson of Harris & Associates. The area has not undergone renovations of this scale since its 1986 opening.
