On Earth Day, Monday, April 22, the nonprofit Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP) Foundation will host a clothing swap at the MTRP Visitor Center (1 Father Junipero Serra Trail).
Each year, 66% of discarded textiles are sent to landfills in the United States, leading to environmental damage and negative health outcomes in communities because of decomposing textiles. This event will help promote sustainable fashion and keeping gently worn clothing out of our landfills.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own tote bag for their swapping. Tickets are $8/person and registration is available online in advance or at the door.
- Clothing of all sizes are welcome, including children’s clothing.
- Swappers can bring 10-15 items maximum; clothes for swapping are not required to attend.
- Clothing should be clean, in wearable condition, and free of stains, rips, or tears that are not part of the clothing design.
- No undergarments or socks for sanitary reasons.
- All leftover clothing will be donated.
