Neighbors are welcome to join the El Cerrito Community Council monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 15 at the College Rolando Library, 6600 Montezuma Road. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 8:30 p.m.
Those attending can hear and see a presentation entitled “Housing Crisis or Hoarding Crisis?” by Ramie Zomisky. She explains how short-term rentals have impacted the San Diego housing market and how a quick and logical code change could be a big part of the solution to the current housing crisis.
This presentation will begin no later than 7:30 p.m., so some of the regular updates from community representatives and organizations may follow the presentation.
There will be an update on the PATH Villas El Cerrito project on El Cajon Boulevard by Megan Colvard, senior director of PATH Enterprises. She will also discuss the creation of a Neighborhood Advisory Committee which El Cerrito residents may join. This committee will meet with PATH regularly and will discuss any ongoing or new community issues concerning PATH Villas El Cerrito.
ECCC will meet in the Library’s Community Room. Use the side entrance directly to the Community Room which you can access using the walkway that fronts the library on the parking lot side. There will be lanterns guiding the way to the open door to the meeting room. The door will be open until meeting time and will remain unlocked in case you are coming a little later.
There will also be the usual updates from elected representatives, SDPD Community Relations Officer, planning groups, and the city’s Parks & Recreation Board.
