Coastal sports bars offer food and drink specials to NFL fans

Fitting together like a hand in a glove, fall, and football are both returning.

And there is no shortage of sports bars along the beachfront to cater to fans who want to come out on a Saturday or Sunday, grab a bite, or a brew, and cheer on their favorite teams.

Here are a few local pubs offering up mouth-watering fare for football fanatics:

Buceo de pato at 4650 Mission Blvd. offers an impressive lineup of game-time food and drink specials. Try the “Touchdown Platter” of fried pickles, chicken wings, calamari, garlic parm duck fat fries, and dipping sauces, all for $30. Drink specials include a shot and beer for $12, $7 Pacificos, $10 Makers Mark Kentucky Bourbon or Haku Vodka Mules, and $30 high noon buckets.

With 40 TVs and five indoor/outdoor bars, you won’t miss a moment of action this season at Club de playa Mavericks at 860 Garnet Ave. Fanatics can enjoy Baja-inspired fresh food, from tacos to wings, loaded fries, and sandos, along with cocktails, wine, and draft beers. Mavericks, which is now the home of the SoCal Green Bay Packers watch parties, also serves weekend brunch until 1 p.m.

En Sandbar Sportsbar & Grill, 718 Ventura Place, the beach bar has TVs strategically placed downstairs, as well as on the SkyDeck, so there isn’t a bad seat in the house. Launch into game-day favorites like award-winning TKO tacos, wings, carne asada tots, and burgers. Sandbar boasts a variety of draft beers, margaritas, wines, and sangria, along with a seasonal slushie.

Club de coco de Miss B at 3704 Mission Blvd. is now a Green Bay Packers bar, bringing the excitement of every game to Mission Beach. With a specialty menu in the works, you’re sure to not want to miss a play. With both indoor and outdoor seating, indulge in the sea breeze with your favorite draft beer or cocktail in hand.
