It turns out, that the referee crews at Point Loma High football games this season were watching more than the action on the field and listening to the fans in the stands.
San Diego Section CIF officials, based on input from the San Diego County Football Officials Association, presented the annual CIF Sportsmanship Award to Point Loma High during the recent CIF Championship football games at Southwestern College. The award was for City Conference schools, which include all San Diego Unified School District high schools along with Cathedral Catholic, St. Augustine, Christian, and Coronado High Schools.
Both head football coach Ryan Price and Principal David Jaffe were on hand to accept the award on behalf of the players, their parents, and the community fans who attend Pointer games.

“There was a lot to be proud of this season,” Price said, “And this one is at the top. This serves as a testament to our program and the character of our boys and coaching staff. Pointer Pride!”
The school received a banner to hang in the gym and a large trophy from CIF to keep at the school. The CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) is the governing body for all prep sports in the state. The San Diego Section includes both San Diego and Imperial Counties.
