The San Diego Strikers will play its third match of the WPSL regular season on Sunday, June 4 at Mission Bay High School’s stadium versus the So Cal Dutch Lions.
The Strikers started the season with a victory over San Diego Parceiro Ladies on May 20 and a loss to So Cal Surf on May 28, but now have the services of former NWSL and USWNT player Leigh Ann Brown. The team, led by head coach Ray Taila, who won coach of the year honors in 2022, is looking for a third-straight Plymouth Division crown having the services of offensive player of the year Kiera Bocchino yet again for this season.
The Strikers will play a total of eight matches in 2023 split evenly between home and away games and hope to avenge its only loss since joining the league two years ago, which came in the 2022 playoffs versus Miss Kick FC.
