A $5 donation turns into $10; a $50 donation becomes $100. San Diego Humane Society is holding Give Humane: San Diego Humane Society’s Day of Giving on Thursday, June 27, to raise money for the nearly 2,000 animals in its care now, and more than 40,000 total animals who will come through the organization’s doors this year.
Through June 27, all donations will be doubled, thanks to generous matching gifts. Visit givehumanesd.org to donate. San Diego Humane Society is hoping to raise $910,000 on its ninth annual Day of Giving this year.
The money will go directly to its lifesaving programs, which provide safe shelter, nationally leading veterinary medicine, rescue from cruelty and neglect, and so much more. The funds raised during Give Humane will also ensure that San Diego County can Stay at Zero euthanasia of healthy or treatable shelter animals.
Dr. Charles and Mrs. Carol Baum have generously offered to match all donations received before June 27 up to $50,000, with additional matching gifts being released on the big day.
“Our community’s support is critical to helping us save lives and care for the increasing number of animals depending on us for help,” said Brian Daugherty, executive vice president at San Diego Humane Society. “These generous matching gifts make Give Humane an amazing opportunity for our entire community to get involved because every donation goes even further to support our work.”
