On Wednesday,  Dec. 18 at the San Carlos Branch Library we  held our annual Social Potluck meeting to thank everyone for their continued interest in helping to make our Navajo Communities of 92119 and 92120 a better place and to thank our librarian and his staff for all of the kindness they show us, the library patrons and all who share this facility.  

From a wide range of reasons from those that notified me it went from work deadlines, holiday excitement, thus we did not have the turnout we had hoped we would have. But the Librarian (David Ege) and his staff had lots of leftover foods to enjoy for a day or two. Hooray!

With all of that being said the decision has been made (by me) to make the following changes: We will continue to meet at the San Carlos Branch Library but on a different date, different time, and different format. 

We are experimenting with this for the next six months, instead of our Wednesday evening meetings from 6:30 to 8 we will be meeting the first Monday of each month, at the San Carlos Branch Library from 5 to 6 p.m. All residents or business owners of 92119 and 92120 are invited. Please bring to my attention any item you wish to discuss. We will not have a speaker, unless I am asked to have one, and while all of the representatives from the various governmental entities will be invited, I do not know who will be able to attend as we are meeting on a different date and time.

Change comes about whether we like it or not, and it usually brings some more creative thinking, fresh ideas, and curiosity. What will not be talked about is gossip, religious areas, nor political non-constructive talk. If you want to complain offer a solution!

My wish for 2025 and beyond is for a kinder, gentler, loving, and peaceful world.
