San Diego’s dining scene is about to get a flavorful upgrade.
Carbonaro’s, a new fast-casual Italian restaurant, is officially opening its doors on Wednesday, April 23 at 5120 College Avenue, Suite 125. The grand opening marks the debut of a pasta-focused concept that’s all about speed, quality, and authentic taste—without the high-end price tag.
Founded by young restaurateur Andrea Carbonaro, whose previous ventures include San Diego staples Trattoria da Sofia and Aromi Cusina, Carbonaro’s is a tribute to his Sicilian roots and passion for Italian cuisine done right. The menu features fresh, made-from-scratch pasta, customizable bowls, and house-made sauces using premium imported ingredients—all prepared with the efficiency of a fast-casual setup.
“Carbonaro’s is about real pasta for real people,” said Carbonaro. “We’re blending traditional Italian flavors with modern convenience, so you can enjoy fresh handcrafted pasta whether you’re grabbing lunch between classes or out for a quick dinner.”
More than just fast-casual Italian, Carbonaro’s is also on a mission to make carbs good again. Inspired by the way pasta is enjoyed in Italy—where meals leave you energized, not sluggish—Carbonaro’s focuses on high-quality wheat, mindful portions, and clean ingredients that bring out the best in every bite. No post-pasta nap required.
The grand opening celebration will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Anyone who shows proof that they followed @carbonaros_us on Instagram y posted the official Grand Opening flyer before April 23 will receive a free pasta bowl during the event. It’s Carbonaro’s way of saying thank you for helping spread the word—and for believing in better pasta.
Located in the College Area near San Diego State University, Carbonaro’s is designed with students, professionals, and families in mind.
The interior features a pop-art style aesthetic, playful branding, and a welcoming vibe that’s perfect for dine-in or takeout.
With sustainability and inclusivity in focus, Carbonaro’s also offers vegan-friendly and gluten-free options, ensuring everyone can enjoy a bowl of pasta their way.
