The San Diego Growlers is celebrating its 10th anniversary in the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) with a home opener at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at Mission Bay High in Pacific Beach. The Growlers will host longtime SoCal rival, Los Angeles Aviators, in the newly realigned South Division after competing in the West for nine previous seasons.
With a renewed sense of purpose after an improved 2024 campaign and a roster brimming with talent, the Growlers are poised to make another playoff run this year.
Kids under 12 always get free admission. Entertainment will be provided by the team’s mascot Growler Phil, DJ Elevate, balloon artist and face painter, plus Woodstock’s Pizza, ice cream, snacks, drinks, games, merchandise giveaways, youth halftime activities, and the fan favorite hole-in-one contest for cash. General admission, group, military, and student tickets are on sale now.
Coming off a record-breaking year for game attendance and broadcast viewers, the UFA’s offseason welcomed a new team in the Vegas Bighorns, new industry-leading partners in Pabst Light and Trulieve, and a historic player movement. More international talent, more stars finding new homes, and more teams strengthening their roster to get one step closer to the title game – and the new trophy, the UFA Pabst Light Cup. The Minnesota Wind Chill looks to repeat after capturing their first UFA Championship in 2024.
The Growlers’ home opener and all games can be streamed on VerUFA.tv presented by Pabst Light. Fans can watch on television using Roku or Amazon Fire TV, or stream on any mobile device. Game replays going back to 2019, instructional videos, and exclusive UFA shows are also available on WatchUFA.tv. New subscribers can watch for $89.99 all season, or $11.99 per month. Subscribers can also tune in for San Diego’s next game on Sunday, May 4, as the Growlers travel north to play the Aviators at Great Park Championship Stadium at 2 p.m.
