
Mesa Colony along with District 9 and San Diego State University is hosting a Dumpster Day on Saturday, April 12. The event, running from 8 a.m. to noon, will be held at San Diego State University Lot 17 B (5999 E. Campus Drive).
Acceptable items include: junk furniture, mattresses, unwanted household items, palm fronds (bundled and tied, less than 501 pounds and 6 inches), electronic recycling (old laptops, monitors etc.).
Items not accepted include: all light bulbs, construction debris, tires, hazardous waste, gas cylinders/propane tanks. Batteries, broken/cracked appliances, and heavy machinery will also not be accepted. There is no commercial hauling allowed.
Organizers are looking for volunteers to help run the event. There is a job for everyone including able-bodied individuals willing to lift heavy objects and those with trucks who can pick up items around the community.
