Lights, camera, action!
Before the holiday break in November, La Mesa Arts Academy performed a play of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and it was a huge success!
More than 25 seventh grade students and 25 eighth grade students participated in this production for the sole purpose of making the audience happy! Even the props were handmade by the students including the everlasting gobstopper machine, the gates of the factory, and the giant phone from the TV scene! This shows that these talented individuals care a lot about making the perfect set and giving it a realistic feel.
Mrs. Callaway, the theater teacher at LMAAC stated, “My heart was so full of joy while working on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The amazing theatre students were able to adjust and make personal connections with the script that made the experience nothing but magical. The amount of laughter and creativity that happened during the rehearsal process made class such a treat.”
Everyone, the performers and the audience, had a blast at this wonderful production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
