
Monday morning’s 5.2 magnitude earthquake in the Julian area was felt throughout much of San Diego County.
The quake’s epicenter, approximately two miles south of the mountain community, rattled nerves for many miles away. Monday’s quake hit at 10:08 a.m., as many people were at work, in classrooms, in their homes, etc.
There were no reports of any notable damage or injuries throughout San Diego County.
In Downtown San Diego, the City Administration Building was deemed safe following inspections and cleared to reopen to the public and City employees on Tuesday, April 15.
In order to complete inspections of the City Administration Building at 202 C Street, the City of San Diego closed the building to the public and staff for the remainder of Monday. City employees who had been at work in the facility were slated to work the remainder of Monday from home or a designated teleworking facility. Other City-owned facilities in Downtown were assessed and opened for the public and City staff.
The City Council meeting scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. was held at the San Diego Civic Theatre, 1100 Third Avenue.
