The Patrick Henry High School and Kiwanis Student of the Month for March is Maya Diaz.
Diaz is described by her teachers as: simply amazing, a complete rock star and everyone at PHHS absolutely loves her. As Link Crew Commissioner, Diaz has reportedly been so helpful, organizing and executing, their monthly meetings, link crew applications, and most recently eighth grade tours, where she has taken the lead to coordinate with cheerleading, band, JROTC, dance, robotics, and numerous Henry teachers to make the eighth grade visit a special and memorable one. She has put in countless extra hours for Link Crew for so many things, and Link crew reportedly wouldn’t be the same without her. Diaz also takes around prospective Henry families each month and shares her knowledge about the school.
Diaz will be pursuing sports journalism at Arizona State University in the Fall.
Recently, Inuit donated a food truck to the CCTE culinary classes, and they asked design students to create a graphic for the vehicle wrap. Her graphic was chosen.
There was a big unveiling of the truck a couple weeks ago. She also designed one of the murals in front of the graphic design teacher’s classroom and painted it.
